Guitar makers have advertised in music magazines such as Down Beat, Guitar Player and very many more. Some manufacturers advertised widely (Guild, Gibson, Fender) but many more didn't and adverts are few and far between. Here are some of my favourite ads out of the ones i've seen. You can browse through all the images from the category links above, or by manufacturer from the links below.

Vintage Guild guitars for sale

Guild Starfire V 1967 Sunburst

NEW PALTZ, NEW YORK, 12561, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

$2500

This 1967 Guild Starfire V serial number EN1089 is in very good condition. The frets are also in very good condition and this is a great playing guitar. The headstock has had a pro repair and there has been a repair at the tailpiece as well (cosmetically not as professional). The repairs were done before we got the guitar and are structurally sound. There are many nicks and chips about the body and volumes of "patina" are present. The Starfire V is a double cutaway semi-hollow instrument ... more

1976 Guild Starfire IV SF4 Vintage Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar Cherry w / ohc

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON, 98117, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

An impressively well-kept Starfire, this Guild features the original HB-1 humbuckers that delivery a sweet, airy tone with excellent definition and warmth. The semi-hollow maple body gives the guitar a distinct note attack and articulation, and not to be confused with Guild's most recent Starfire iterations, this is a genuine vintage USA-made Guild, produced at the famed Westerly, RI ... more

Guild D25M Dreadnought Westerly 1982 VTG w / HSC

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, 21218, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

$900

Beautiful all mahogany except for spruce top. All original. I don't really want to sell this, but have to thin the herd, and I'm keeping my older version of this model. Yes, they're that good. Light fret wear. These were wonderful, rich-toned guitars with great projection, just look at that scalloped back. This has a ding or two, but I had to look for them. Comes with hardshell plush lined case. I do not sell junk, I bought these guitars because I love guitars and list them HONESTLY. If you try ... more
