Guitar makers have advertised in music magazines such as Down Beat, Guitar Player and very many more. Some manufacturers advertised widely (Guild, Gibson, Fender) but many more didn't and adverts are few and far between. Here are some of my favourite ads out of the ones i've seen. You can browse through all the images from the category links above, or by manufacturer from the links below.

Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Dreadnought, Rancher by Selmer

ABERFFRAW, , LL635DJ, UNITED KINGDOM

£49

Acoustic Guitar, Vintage Dreadnought, Rancher by Selmer. Jumbo sized acoustic guitar, with a later fitted pickup. Ideal for taking this vintage guitar to a festival, without breaking the bank!! The Rancher guitar was imported by Selmer in the 1970s, and was made by the acclaimed guitar makers Melodia Menges, in the former Yugoslavia. The guitar was put together using spares from other models, so there is variation within the make, especially in the headstock design. There are a few dings, ... more

SANDY, SG19, UNITED KINGDOM

£525

Selmer Corvette 6 valve amplifier. Made in the early / mid sixties the ''New Corvette 6'' was produced by Selmer in England. It is a lightweight amp (16 25 pounds) with single speaker and is a valve amp. It measures eighteen inches wide by twelve and a half inches high by eight inches deep - compact and easy to handle. Selmer Treble & Bass 50 RSV c. 1973 vintage 50W valve guitar amp head

LONDON, SE15, UNITED KINGDOM

£399

Fully working and sounding great, I love this amp but it just doesn't get anywhere near enough use at my studio to justify keeping it so here it is for someone who'll really get the most out of it. 50W head with two channels (separate treble & bass inputs on each) speaker outputs at 7 5 and 15Ohm, lovely spring reverb on board too. Knobs on faceplate are not original - replaced by a previous owner. But I kind of liked them so never bothered to source "proper" ones. I'm sure you can find some NOS... more

Rust and Rot ~ Purveyors of wonderful things. Hello and welcome to the sale of this splendid lap guitar. Made by Selmer this is a Hawaiian or steel slide guitar. This one comes complete and in its original case The guitar is untested as it appears to have a pair of banana plug connectors and I have nothing to test it on. It comes with various accessories including strings, picks and slides. Some of the picks and slides are collectable vintage examples made by Roy Smeck. I have taken the back ... more

This is a relisting, due to someone making an offer, then ignoring all communication, after it had been accepted. A friend of mine has asked me to check this over, and, if possible, sell it.
