1960 Gibson guitars and amplifiers - page 36

Gibson 1960 guitar and bass catalogue. Page 36. Splash page for the catalogue section on carved top acoustic guitars. Pictured is a rather special guitar, the Gibson L5C, shown here in sunburst finish.

First developed by Gibson, carved top acoustic guitars are made of the finest violin woods with arched top and back. They have a truly magical tone - rounded, balanced, and resonant - beautiful for both concert and voice accompaniament. The arched top and back provide the sounding board for a wide tonal range, a brilliant treble, and a exceptional sustaining power. The neck is slim, frets are low, the action fast and easy.
