1970 Gibson Electric Acoustics catalog. Page 1. The front cover shows a posterized close-up image of the sharp Florentine cutaway of the Gibson L5-CES. This cutaway style was standard in the 1950s, though it changed to a rounded Venetian style for most of the 1960s. But it reverted back at some point in 1969, and was a feature of several guitars in this 1970 brochure.
Note the new foliage motif, used here for the first time. This emblem was a continual feature of Gibson publicity material throughout the 1970s.
