Gibson Les Paul Artisan

1980 Gibson guitar, bass and banjo catalogue, page 20

Gibson 1980 guitar and bass catalogue. Page 20. The last USA catalogue appearance of the Les Paul Artisan. This was the most ornate of the passive Les Paul models; only the active Les Paul Artist was more expensive.

The guitar illustrated is very attractive in it's Tobacco Sunburst finish, and has numerous late-Artisan features: two series VII pickups (rather than three), the TP-6 adjustable tailpiece, Crank button machine heads, and Posi-Lok strap buttons.

The US list price at this time (July '80) was $1099.
