Gibson Super V CES
1980 Gibson guitar, bass and banjo catalogue, page 7
Gibson 1980 guitar and bass catalogue. Page 7. Details of the Gibson Super V CES; one of the finest archtop guitars available at the time. It was, of course, a model based on two other electric archtops; it 'incorporates the neck specifications of the Super 400 and the body specifications of the L-5'.
The July 1980 US price list gave two finish options, with a price of $1899 for Antique Sunburst models, and $1999 for Natural. This was the second most expensive guitar listed in this catalogue, only after the Kalamazoo Award model featured on the previous page.
