Gibson ES347

1983 Gibson guitar and bass catalogue page 15

Gibson 1983 guitar and bass catalogue. page 15. Details of the Gibson ES347 electric guitars - with a choice of gold and (optionally) chrome hardware. This is the first catalogue to use the newer name ES-347 (rather than ES-347TD that it had been sold as since it's launch in 1978). Note the position of the coil tap switch - with the other controls, as opposed to on the lower cutaway bout (compare with the 1980 Gibson catalogue).

In 1983 the ES-347 was listed at $1399, or $1349 with chrome parts (US prices 15/6/83).
