Hofner 511 Staple humbucker (1963-66)

Some guitars fitted with this pickup

1965 Hofner President

Like the 510 'Diamond logo' pickups that preceded them, the 511 pickups are mounted via four grub screws, two each on the top and bottom edges of the plastic surround. These can be loosened to allow the pickups to be raised or lowered and then simply retightened. Note that the bridge pickup surround is taller than the neck - both are held in place by two screws accessible once the pickup itself is removed.

The nickel plated covers have no logo or branding, just six fixed (staple) pole pieces and six adjustable (screw head) pole pieces, in two columns. Removing the pickups and their surrounds is a simple matter, revealing a small hole in the guitar's top through which the pickup leads enter the guitars body and volume and tone controls.

Vintage 1960's Sekova Hofner Style Bass- 2 Pickups!! This is a vintage Sekova bass guitar from the 1960's copy of a Hofner bass. I took pictures of all sides to see condition of this bass. Vintage Hofner pickup Club 40 / 50, Commitee, London125, Model 457 / S / E2, President

MACHYNLLETH, SY208LS, UNITED KINGDOM

£179

Lovely vintage Hofner pickup made around 1960. I acquired this pickup in around 1968 with my first guitar which was a Beatlesque single cutaway Hofner club 40 which if I had now I would be a very happy man! Anyway I do have a "Toaster" pickup which could be the final bit you need to finish your project. Was fitted to many Hofners of that era. As you can see from the pictures it has a tale to tell and I think looks fantastic but you could always re-chrome and rewind it if you wanted to ruin it! ... more
