Hofner Violin bass

Page 7 of the 1965/66 Selmer Catalogue

The Hofner Violin bass, also known as the 'Beatle' bass or 500/1 was most-likely Hofner's best-known instrument world-wide in 1966, and probably still today. Naturally Hofner were not going to miss a trick by leaving out some reference to it's best-known player, Paul McCartney, who gives the thumbs-up from the hang tag!

The guitar used by Paul McCartney, the Hofner Violin bass is one of the smallest and lightest hollow-back bass guitars made to-day
