Vox White Plastic Control Knob

Part description for the most widely used UK Vox control knob

Vox > Vox parts > Control knobs > JMI white control knob

Vox white plastic control knob, part number 09-107-0, used for volume and tone controls on British (JMI) Vox guitars from 1962 until 1967 - from the early versions of the Shadow and Stroller, right up to the final model, the Marauder.

Models also fitted with this part include: Ace, Bassmaster, Clubman, Clubman bass, Duotone, Escort and Soloist and . Some of these models may also have been fitted with other parts, see the Vox control knobs page for more details.

Top and bottom view of unattached knob with grub screw in the foreground. This screw tightens against the potentiometer shaft to hold it in place. Control dimensions: width (at base) 19.2mm, height 13.7mm. Grub screw: slotted head, 3.5mm x 6.5mm.

Above: this early 1963 Vox Shadow is the single cutaway LG50 style, with black bakelite pickguard. But both this, and the later Stratocaster-style Shadow (2-pickup versions only, here) were fitted with the white control knobs. Three-pickup Shadows were generally fitted with the otherwise identical black version of the same knob.
