This was available in Natural or Shaded finish, with a 1962 list price of Epiphone B5N (Natural) $525; Epiphone B5S (Shaded) $450. 1962 was the peak year (in terms of numbers shipped) for Kalamazoo-built Epiphone upright acoustic basses, with 178 instruments shipped, but of these, just 21 were the Artist B5 model (see Epiphone acoustic bass shipping totals).
