Specifications for the newly re-issued LP Standard and LP Custom. The Les Paul Standard shown is equivalent to a 1956 model, with separate tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, and with P90 single coil pickups rather than humbuckers.
The 1968 Les Pauls had one-piece mahogany bodies (with maple top), and one-piece mahogany necks. Some time in 1969, the bodies were changed to three-piece mahogany/maple/mahogany (still with maple top), with a three-piece mahogany neck.
In June 1968, these guitars had a US list price of $545 for the Custom, and $395 for the Standard.
