This was the first catalog appearance of the L6-S Deluxe, despite being in the Gibson line since late 1975 - it missed the 1976 reprint of the 1975 Solid Bodies brochure, and by the time it was included here was very much in decline.

The Melody Maker Double Cutaway and L-6S Deluxe both sold well in 1977, but these sales were certainly slipping in 1978, and were almost negligible in 1979. US zone 1 prices for May 1978 were $459 for the L-6S Deluxe and $539 for the Melody Maker.
