The Gibson Marauder was officially deleted in 1980, and prior to its inclusion in this Gibson Specials folder, had not be listed in a US Gibson catalog since 1978, and not in a US price list since January 1980 (at $399, and only in Satin Walnut finish).
The text (except for the finish options) is taken directly from page 11 of the 1978 catalog, however the image (with its black pickups is later. Both are inaccurate to some extent, as this sheet seems to describe a small batch of Marauders produced in early 1981. The finish options listed as available here are Ebony, Red and White - all opaque colours - whilst the image shown is translucent (presumably natural mahogany, not officially available since 1979). Furthermore, both image and text describe a maple fretboard, and all 1981 Marauders studied to date have been fitted with rosewood boards. Actually these late Marauders are exceptionally nice guitars!
