Kalamazoo was Gibson's budget brand; Kalamazoo instruments were made at a Gibson plant in Kalamazoo, by Gibson employees, using Gibson parts - but note, not the Gibson plant at Parsons street - rather the newer electronics facility where they produced pickups and amplifiers.
