This advert from 1967 was posted towards the end of Epiphone's US production; but actually the best year in terms of sales for the two Howard Roberts models. Mr. Roberts is shown (inset) playing his HR-CE Howard Roberts Custom model, with distinctive tree-of-life headstock inlays.

One Epiphone production halted at Kalamazoo in 1969, the very small number of unfinished guitars were shipped with Gibson branding in 1970 - before a full reissue of the model in 1974.
