Gretsch bass guitars

Gretsch have always been far better known for their guitars than their basses, but they did produce a few models in the 1960s and 1970s. In the 1960s, a number of semi-acoustic basses were produced in New York, in both long and short scales. They were well-built instruments, but didn't sell in especially large numbers. See the basses in the 1968 catalogue

6070 Gretsch bass long scale, 1 pickup
6071 Gretsch bass short scale, 1 pickup
6072 Gretsch bass long scale, 2 pickups
6073 Gretsch bass short scale, 2 pickups

In the 1970s Gretsch produced a number of new models including two distinctive solid body basses.
