Gibson SG Standard

Page 32 of the 1965/66 Selmer Catalogue

In the period 1965/66, the Gibson SG Standard was could be seen in the hands of several world-famous British guitarists, most notably George Harrison; the modern styling and luscious cherry finish was an instant hit, and as the sixties turned into the seventies, the list of British guitarists using the SG Standard grew and grew.

The SG Standard was certainly a fine model fitted with Gibson's famous PAF humbuckers, lyre tailpiece, inlaid headstock and block position markers. The even higher end (gold hardware, three-pickup) Custom is not included in this catalogue.

An established favourite with completely modern styling... with thinner lightweight contoured body, and deep double cutaway that provides easy access to all 22 frets
