Gibson 1960 guitar and amplifier catalog. Page 12. Details of the Les Paul Junior and Melody Maker. Since the previous (1960) catalog, the Les Paul Junior has been redesigned with a double cutaway body shape. Interestingly the Les Paul TV, which is just a Junior with a limed-mahogany finish, is listed as an SG-TV, despite also having the double-cut body style in the catalog picture (see previous page).
Both guitars are available as a standard, or 3/4 scale instrument at the same price. A dual pickup Melody Maker D is also described, though not pictured.
This is the first catalog appearance of the Gibson Melody Maker; a mainstay of the Gibson range for the rest of the decade.
1960 US zone 1 prices for these guitars were: Les Paul Junior $132.50; Melody Maker $99.50; Melody Maker D $135.00.
