Page 49 shows Selmer's (now significantly slimmed down) range of Hofner solid bodies. Just one guitar and one bass: the Hofner Galaxie guitar and the single pickup Professional bass. The solid body range would soon expand again, with a number of Fender and Gibson styled solid bodies appearing in the early 1970s, but this was the range in its entirety circa late 1968
The well-equipped Hofner Galaxie was one of the brands better selling guitars. Described as follows:
Here is a solid to excite the most exacting guitarist! Made to give all the effects and variety of tone colour that's today's music demands. Just look at the features. Three Hofner high-efficiency bar pick-ups (see page 42), bass, descant, treble - each with its separate control switch and individual wheel-type tone control. A superb bridge has been included, together with "FLICK-DOWN DAMPER" that gives an effective muted sound. Simple movement of the vibrato arm for tremolo at any desired speed or depth. Made from the finest selected woods and materials and of course, it's backed by the craftsmanship that's made Hofner a name to be reckoned with in guitars. Available in rich Sunburst.
