All Fender solid body guitars were available in various different incarnations; different finishes, additional levels of ornamentation, and optional hardware. The guitars shown below, and their respective May 1969 prices were as follows: Fender Jaguar in custom red finish, $451 (note the matching red headstock); Jazzmaster in custom white finish, $419.50; Jaguar in standard Sunburst finish $429.50; Fender Jazzmaster in standard Sunburst finish $399.50; Stratocaster (with tremolo) in black finish, $367.00; and in Sunburst finish, $349.50.
Other options were available, but not demonstrated here: a maple fretboard (additional 5%), left handed version (additional 10%), plus a Stratocaster without tremolo (Sunburst finish) at just $299.50.
