Fender Jazz Bass

1972 Fender guitar and bass catalogue - page 19

The first bass to appear in this catalogue was the Fender Jazz, shown here in one of Fender's custom order finishes, Lake Placid Blue. Other custom colours available for the Jazz at this time include: Blond, Sonic Blue (until late 72/early 73), Olympic White, Black, Candy Apple Red and Natural.

In February '72, a Jazz bass in Sunburst finish was listed at $356.50, with the price rising incrementally with various options: custom finish, maple neck or left handed models. The bass pictured would have retailed at $374.50.
