Promo sheet for the Gibson EB-1 from 1969, the year the model was reintroduced. This was, of course, a remake of the violin-shaped 1953 Gibson EB bass; only fitted with more up-to-date components. It was still short scale, carved from mahogany, with a set mahogany neck and rosewood fretboard. The biggest change was from the old single-coil pickup, to a regular Gibson bass humbucker.

We've had so many requests for the EB-1 Electronic bass, that we've taken it out of retirement and returned it to our line of quality instruments
