Hello All!
Here??s a great little banjo that I??m hoping will find a happy new owner
This is a 1924 Gibson TB-1 tenor banjo (FON 11968 7) that was, until recently, hanging on the wall of an old home here in St. Paul. 1924 was the last year that Gibson used this trap door design, which allows a player to open the back to project he sound differently. This system was invented by Lloyd Loar, of mandolin design fame. It has a tone ring, too. All in all, it??s an elegant ... more

I am open to offers! I believe this to be a 1926-1928 BT-1 or BT-3 "The Gibson" banjo as researched from the 8962-7 marking on the back The banjo is in structurally very good condition and looks to be an easy restoration for someone with the interest. One tuning key is missing (part of it is included) and the head is broken (NOT the head of the neck). Neck is sound and it has some dings here and there but no cracks, chips or "deep" damage. Just surface dings. I do not have a back panel /... more
