The Gibson 'Flower' tuning key was fitted to a wide range of guitars between 1977 and 1981, replacing a range of other tuners: the Kluson 320-VP (plastic buttons), Kluson 323-VX (metal buttons) and Grover 102. This part is not listed in the 1977 replacement parts catalog, but is described as the correct part for the following guitars in the 1981 list: Les Paul Deluxe, Les Paul Standard, Les Paul Signature, Les Paul Special 55, L6S Deluxe, Marauder, Melody Maker Double, S-1, Flying V, ES-335, and ES-175.
The back of this tuner has the 70s style Gibson logo running diagonally across the cover, with the paisley/flower/leaf motif in the top right corner. This tuner was produced for Gibson by Schaller. Note the 'Made in Germany' script embossed on the underside.
