Tim Shaw developed a number of humbuckers for Gibson in the late 1970s/early 1980s, including the Magna Plus B; again an exposed coil 'zebra stripe' cream/black unit. The Magna Plus B was a hotter version of the Magna Plus (humbucker with one iron loaded coil and one magnet loaded coil) especially designed for use in the bridge position of the Gibson Victory MVX; it was overwound with taller formers and more turns. For further details of the Victory series pickups, see the Victory MV owners manual.
As in "Magna Plus" but with approximately 35% more windings per coil and 20% taller forms
This pickup has a DC resistance of 7.22KΩ in humbucking mode, 9.61KΩ in single coil mode.
Dimensions (excluding mounting tabs): 2.60" x 1.39" x 0.78".

Magna Plus B pickup in situ in the bridge position of a 1981 Gibson Victory MV-X. This is a hotter version of the Magna Plus in the neck position, being taller with 35% more windings.

The Magna Plus is scratchplate-mounted, with three screws (one at the top, two at the bottom) to allow adjustment of both height and rake.

The extra height of the Magna Plus allows it to be positioned close to the guitars strings, despite their height at this position.

Gibson Magna Plus B pickup removed from scratchplate. Note how the single mounting hole on the left has been converted to a double hole with an additional metal piece.

Gibson Magna Plus pickup B side/underside view. The coil windings are covered with black tape.

The coils are mounted onto a "ferrous reflector plate for additional output" - stamped on the underside with Gibson's usual humbucker patent number 2,737,842 - this actually refers to an earlier bridge/tailpiece patent, rather than Seth Lover's humbucker, but was the number Gibson applied to the underside of pickups for decades.
