An exciting guitar, handsomely modern in design and finish

...the SG-TV offers unusual quality, features and performance at a popular price

The SG TV was very closely related to the SG Junior; in effect the same guitar, with identical hardware, and price, but a different finish. Unlike the SG Junior, which was initially launched as the Les Paul Junior in 1961, the SG-TV was always known as an SG, despite the two double cut versions being devised at the same time. 1961 Gibson literature describe the guitar as having a Cream finish, though it is listed as white from 1962. The final price list inclusion of the SG-TV was June 1968, despite not appearing in Gibson catalogues beyond 1964. The SG-TV (and Junior) had a June 1961 US launch price of $142.50
