This is one of a kind DeArmond X-155 jazz guitar that has been played so little it still has the original strings and I could list it as an open box because it has probably been played 10-15 times if that much. This guitar has been kept in exceptionally good condition in a non-smoking environment, it looks almost as a brand new guitar and has the same beautiful rich, warm sound of a much more expensive Guild guitar. These DeArmond guitars were manufactured in Korea when they were under the ... more

This listing is for a set of rare Vintage 1950's Kluson "No Line" Gold Guitar Tuning Gears. This tuners would have come off a late 1950's Guild guitar such as a X-350 or Aristocrat M-75. These are super rare and hard to find tuners. This style may have also been used on some Martin or Gibson models from the late 1950's or 1960's but I know these are found on the higher end Guild models. The tuning heads are a complete set of 3+3 tuners. They come as pictured and do not include any ... more

Always in the shadow of Martin and Gibson, Guild acoustics (electrics too for that matter) can more than hold their own and sonically sit quite comfortably between the two. Vintage examples are also significantly cheaper which is great news for Guild players! Sitka spruce sits atop mahogany back and sides while the fingerboard and bridge are of rosewood. The distinctive head logo and modest appointments give it an overall appearance of being a modest, working musicians instrument but with the... more

This is a clean guitar. It's not mint. It does have some light scratchiness and some graininess in the finish. By graininess, I mean that you can feel the grain of the wood in some areas, most notably on the spruce top on the lower treble bout. I guess they used a very light coat of finish. The action is on the high side. I measured slightly over 1 / 8 of an inch from the top of the 14th fret to the bottom of the 6th string. And the saddle is low. So, the action is definitely NOT low, but it's ... more
