1972 catalog produced by Canadian distributor ARC. By the end of the 1960s, Hagstrom were introducing a number of important changes to their electric guitars and basses. Although Hagstrom already had a great reputation for well-built instruments, and quality hardware, certain features not generally used by the brand had started to become the norm with other manufacturers - separate volume and tone controls for each pickup for example. The 70s Hagstroms can be characterised by their use of humbucking pickups, and the disappearance of the somewhat unreliable pickup/tone switches in favour of volume/tone pots. Headstocks with single-sided tuning keys were also phased out in favour of headstocks with keys on each side.
