Guitar makers have advertised in music magazines such as Down Beat, Guitar Player and very many more. Some manufacturers advertised widely (Guild, Gibson, Fender) but many more didn't and adverts are few and far between. Here are some of my favourite ads out of the ones i've seen. You can browse through all the images from the category links above, or by manufacturer from the links below.

$100

I'm cleaning out a long closed Western Ma. luthier shops inventory and will be selling a lifetime collection of mostly vintage musical instruments and parts. Kalamazoo Model One 1x10" Combo Amplifier 1960s - Black

Here we have a neat little Kalamazoo Model One vintage tube amplifier! This one is from the 1960s and features dual inputs, a combination on / off / tone knob and a volume control. It has a 10" speaker with around 5 watts and an EL84 power tube. The exterior wrap shows its age with a little dirt down in the crevices. The wrap is also subtly loosening from the cabinet in areas, but it's stable overall. It's been upgraded to a modern grounded 3-prong power lead. The amp is in very good condition ... view on ebay
